The band started in 1969 as a 4-man outfit named "Streak" (sans Jim Humphrey) and changing to "Wynter" the following year. The band's repertoire included selections by The Who, Jeff Beck Group, Spooky Tooth, Deep Purple, Nazz, Terry Reid, and countless others in that vein.

In the next few years, the band was to undergo numerous personnel changes that included Jimmy McDonnell and Barry Scott (later of "The States"), Robert Fernandez, Danny Porter, Danny Loonie, Tom Parker and Bill Ricketts. See: Wynter 1971 - Wynter 1972
